Parent Lunch Visits

Today


Don’t forget to grab your healthy lunch in the cafeteria today.  The Food Service ladies want you to know that you can purchase lunch inside MP Room or at the outside windows.  The prices are the same.


This is Parent Lunch visits.  Tell your parents to come and have lunch with you.

Student store will be open at lunch today and after school this Monday, Tuesday Thursday and Friday.  YOu can only purchase snacks after school. If you need to pick up spirit wear or pe clothes, please do so during your lunch.

Prices will go up to our regular fall price on September 9th to $50 and with nameplate $55.

Do you want your parents/guardians to know what being YOU at Albiani is like? Ask them to come to Bring Your Parent/Guardian to School Day on Thursday, September 27! Remind your parents to look for an email to sign up and tell them they MUST register ahead of time, as space is limited.


This week

This Friday is Orange Day!  SHow you are apart of the KIndness Revolution and you are pledging to Be Your Best!

This Saturday is Deaf Awareness day at Six Flags…  THere will be interpreters at all Venues, rides and shows!  It is going to be a great event. This reminds me that at the end of September is Club RUSH!  IF you are interested in learning American Sign Language, you may want to check out our club. Stop by our booth at Club Rush on September 25th.  


This Wednesday, AVID will continue selling ice cream cones, bars, and sandwiches for $1.00. Come by MF-9 after school on Wednesday for a nice treat for your ride or walk home.


Hola Amigos! Spanish Club is starting this Thursday at lunch. Do you speak Spanish at home? Are you trying to learn Spanish? Spanish club is a place to celebrate the Spanish Language for all levels of Spanish speakers. 7th graders get your lunch and meet in Room MJ-5, 8th graders get your lunch and meet in Room MK-1 this Thursday. Hasta pronto!


Library

The main library is now OPEN to students from 7:30 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. for students to read, do quiet study or homework, or to use the computers for school work.  Stop by the library and check OUT some great books to start you OFF to a great school year.

Do you love to read?  Want to help with our monthly library challenges?  Consider joining the KAMS Library Advisory Club. Sign Up during Club Rush on Sept 25th..

Attention All KAMS students.  Do you volunteer in the community or would like to start?  Come learn about how you can earn volunteer hours towards the KAMS Community Service Award?  See Mrs. Kennedy in the library if you would like to sign-up. Deadline to sign up is Friday, September 21st.



Athletics on Campus

Congratulations to all who tried out for Volleyball! You are reaching for your dreams and your greatness is showing! For those who made the team, please remind your parents of the Parent/Player meeting TONIGHT in the gym right after practice at 5:30pm.


Great job, Cross Country in representing us at the Lagoon Valley Classic! We are Falcon Proud of every single one of you! A special shout out to Troy Shupe, Joseph Merino, Natalie Underwood, Alina Solis and Allison Myers who all placed in the Top 25 finishers! Go Falcons!

SOC is now open, daily, in the gym before school.  See Mr. Swain or Mr. Rubes if you have any questions.


If you’re interested in a getting a great workout while learning some cool dance moves then Zumba is for you!  Zumba classes will begin in the Dance Room on Wednesday September 12th from 7:15-7:40 am. See your PE teacher or Mr. Swain to pick up a flier for more information.


Theatre

Musical News: This week all cast members should attend rehearsal Tuesday through Friday until 5:30 p.m.. Crew meeting will be Thursday until 5:30 p.m..


KAMS Theatre Company has two fundraisers going: Snap!Raise and Mixed Bags. Please see Mrs. Campbell or any Theatre student for more information.

Join us this Wednesday for our 1st episode of the season starring the one and only Jimmy Falcon and Mrs. Hill's 3rd period JOURNALISM & TV PRODUCTION class (aka KAMS TV Crew).

The student store will open after school beginning this week on Thursday.

"If you had Ms. Ladd-Fuller last year, make sure to drop by MJ-6 to collect your old student work folder.  Look through it, maybe save a couple of "key" assignments that might assist you as you begin your 8th grade year: TBEAR paragraph, Reflection Letter, Annotation. Many gems await.

This week

8th graders.  Come show your id card at the SOAR booth during your lunch on Wednesday and see if you get S.O.A.R. rewards based on your last report card as a 7th grader.  You will go to the table with the 1st letter of your last name.

Friday is Feel Good Falcon Friday- Wear Red White and Blue and show your Falcon Pride.  Win Spirit Points and earn your way to the VIP Carnival. IF you want to earn spirit points for your class then you need to wear at least 2 items of SPirit Colors or ALbiani SPirit Wear.  IF you just wear Blue jeans that will not count. Also come out to the MP Stage and get your id card scanned and earn a chance to win free stuff….

Athletics on Campus


Volleyball tryouts for all CLEARED 7th and 8th grade girls are this week: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 3:15-5:15 pm in the gym. Please attend all three days of tryouts.


You may still join the Cross Country Team! All you need is a completed Athletic Clearance Packet, a good attitude, and if you are an 8th grader, a 2.0 or better for your Quarter 4 grades.


There is a MANDATORY Cross Country Parent and Runner meeting immediately following practice tomorrow, Tuesday, August 28, in room MH7. Please make every effort to be there if you are on or planning to be on the Cross Country team.


SOC is in the morning in the gym.  See Mr. Swain or Mr. Rubes if you have any questions.

Library

All students should have received all their textbooks.  If you were absent or need additional books please come to the library to get your textbooks.  Once you receive your textbooks you have 7 days to report any unrecorded damages to the library. The main library is CLOSED  until the first week of Sept. for Library Orientations.

Today is TPS Tuesday, KAMS don’t forget to text post say something positive to someone!

Student store will be open at lunch today but not after school.  If you purchased an ASB sticker, stop by the windows and pick up your sticker.  


PE Clothes are to be purchased in class beginning today.


If you purchased and ASB sticker, you can pick it up today at Student Store windows.


Last Thursday you will received your 1st day packet in your 3rd period classes.  Please bring it home to your parent and guardian. Fill it out and bring it back by this Friday!

Interested in First Lego League Competition After School? Come to a meeting Tuesday

August 28th at 3:10 in MC-9


Auditions for the fall musical Once On This Island Jr. will be Wednesday, August 22 after school.  Learn the song and dance at the Workshop today after school.  Stop by MD-27 and pick up audition forms or crew applications from Mrs. Campbell.


Wednesday is Back to School Night 6-7 pm  Come early and eat at a food truck frenzy 4:30- 8 pm.  Teachers please pass out BTSN information for students today in 3rd period


Athletics on Campus

ATTENTION CROSS COUNTRY AND GIRLS VOLLEYBALL – You MUST have an athletic clearance packet on file to start running with cross country or try out for volleyball. Packets are available at the student services office WINDOW or can be downloaded from our website at kams.egusd.net. Your parents will fill out most of the packet, but you also have to have a sports physical with a doctor, so pick up your packet TODAY!


Cross Country started yesterday, but you may still join, as soon as you have turned in your clearance packet at the student services WINDOW. Cross Country meets from 3:15-4:45 pm in Coach Washington’s room, MH7.


Volleyball tryouts are next week: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 3:15-5:15 pm in the gym.


Library

All students will be receiving their textbooks through their Math classes. You will need your Student ID or Schedule to checkout your textbooks so please bring it to school everyday. Once you receive your textbooks you have 7 days to report any unrecorded damages to the library. The main library is CLOSED  until the first week of Sept. for Textbook Distribution.
