Our entire Middle Stage Fest team did a fabulous job on Saturday! We ended up with 27 students and 4 parents attending. Though 1 of 19 schools, we made up nearly 10% of participants! Students performed once for adjudication (where they received constructive criticism from judges) and twice for scoring. Since some students performed in two categories, they performed anywhere from three to six times! Andrew Westfall’s monologue was selected as an overall outstanding performance. He won a week at a theatre camp in the Santa Cruz Mountains called UCamp, valued at $845! Here’s how our students fared:

Original Oratory Slam:

Molly Wallace and Izzy Ignacio took gold for “Mars” which they co-wrote. Molly played guitar and sang, and Izzy sang lead.

Musical Duet:

Molly Wallace and Ashley Rojas took gold for “The Joy of Motherhood” from Honk Jr.

Maya Adams and Keira Foster took bronze for “Everywhere That You Are” from James and the Giant Peach Jr.

Musical Solo:

Saferrah Mansfield – gold for “Let Me Be Your Star” from Smash.

Emma Mattos – god for “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid.

Bella Ruggiero – silver for “Nothing” from A Chorus Line.

Lily McCall – silver for “Oh How He Loves Us” by David Crowder.

Izzy Ignacio – “Poor Unfortunate Souls” from The Little Mermaid.

Group Scenes:

Bryce Whalen, Logan Parker, Hanna Clark, and Zoey DeHart - silver for “Princess Support Group II” – an original scene.

Jouette Cazier, Saher Haidari, and Matthew Creitchen – bronze for “untitled” from Attack on Titan.

Duo Scenes:

Samantha Albiani and Lily McCall – gold for “Best Friends”

Saferrah Mansfield and Ashely Rojas – gold for “A Sacrifice”

Zoey DeHart and Logan Parker – silver for “First Day on the Job” – an original scene

Eliza Williams and Noelynn Oltmanns – silver for “untitled”

Hanna Clark and Emma Mattos – bronze for “Chile Pepper Chicks”
