COURSE DESCRIPTION
The 8th grade science curriculum provides extensive opportunities to practice and master science processing skills introduced in the 7th grade course. The emphasis will be on the Physical Sciences as a preparation for 9th grade science. The standards include: safety, measurement, scientific method, structure of matter, periodic table, reactions, chemistry of living systems, forces, motions, Earth in the solar system, and density and buoyancy. A unit on Tobacco and Drug Education is also included as part of the curriculum.
